The statue became a symbol of Xander's criminal past, eventually leading to the murder of Serena by Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson), the Necktie Killer.   
DOOL spoilers indicate that now, after a series of unfortunate events caused by Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) and Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel), and exposed by Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez), the Kiriakis family faces the threat of losing everything.
