The latest Days of our Lives promo shows the heart-rending demise of the beloved character, Doug Williams. The loss is particularly poignant given the passing of the actor who portrayed him, Bill Hayes, in January 2024. DOOL spoilers have said that Hayes' final scene as Doug aired in July 2024, with a body double standing in for the subsequent death scene. 
In the DOOL promo, the tragic narrative unfolds during the Thanksgiving week when Jack Devereaux and Jennifer Horton return to Salem. In a poignant moment, Jack finds Doug has passed away peacefully in his sleep. The distressing news is relayed to Doug's grieving wife, Julie Williams, and his daughter, Hope Brady. 
The Days Promo is interspersed with touching flashbacks to Doug's best moments, offering viewers a chance to reminisce about Bill Hayes' significant contributions to the show. As the trial unfolds, Curtis Ashford, played by Donnell Turner, seeks advice from Jordan Ashford, played by Tanisha Harper, about Drew Cain, currently played by Cameron Mathison.

Meanwhile, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is shocked when she learns that Michael Baldwin (Christian Jules Leblanc) is representing Sharon with an insanity plea. Phyllis also accuses Sharon of trying to kill her, causing tension between them.
