"Young and the Restless", actress Allison Lanier is slated to exit her role as Summer Newman. The announcement was unexpected, with the character's departure from Genoa City set to cause significant ripples among other major characters. 

Allison Lanier's exit from Y&R aligns with unfortunate developments for her character's business venture, Marquetti, and hints at the end of her three-year contract. Lanier's final appearance is scheduled for this Friday, May 2nd, with no confirmation of a recast as yet. 

Summer's impending departure from The Young and the Restless is tied to storyline reasons, including a stalled relationship with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and reduced plot activity for Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd). The departure could potentially free up budget for other cast members, like Billy Flynn.
