General Hospital sees the medical crisis of Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) brings his father, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), to the brink of his own medical catastrophe. Sonny's chest pains, a recurring symptom, are back with a vengeance as the stress of Michael's condition intensifies. The mob boss is seen grappling with the guilt of his past and present choices, which have now landed his son in a hospital bed on the ABC soap opera. 

Spoilers for General Hospital see Sonny's struggle is further amplified when Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) sides with Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) to keep the children at the Quartermaine mansion, leaving Sonny's heart seemingly on the verge of collapse. As Sonny's health deteriorates, the question arises whether his condition is a result of stress or a malicious plot against him. Possible perpetrators include new villain Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and the despised Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
