General Hospital sees the health of Port Charles mob boss, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), is rapidly deteriorating. Despite the urgings of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), Sonny has been delaying the surgery recommended by Doctor Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson). His focus has been on finding the person responsible for the penthouse explosion that severely injured his son, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell). However, the mounting stress, particularly from his volatile relationship with Ava Jerome (Maura West) and the reckless actions of his daughter, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi), might lead to a cardiac crisis sooner than anticipated on the ABC soap opera.

GH sees tensions are high as Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) fights for his life after a car accident caused by Kristina's attempt to murder Ava. If Ric doesn't survive, it's possible that Sonny could end up with his brother's heart in a shocking twist, leading to more family turmoil. As the situation spirals, the newly inaugurated Monica Quartermaine Cardiac Center at General Hospital may soon have its first patient.
