Days of our Lives promo from Day of Days promises a thrilling flashback to when John Black (Drake Hogestyn), a character with an incredibly perplexing backstory, first arrived in Salem. 

The plot revolved around the mystery man known as "The Pawn" who had amnesia, bandaged from plastic surgery. Fans may recall it was heavily influenced by Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo), Salem's chess enthusiast.

The DOOL storyline had several twists and turns, with John brainwashed and trained as an assassin by villains like Yo Ling (Tobin Bell) and Ilya Petrov (Kai Wulff). 

Later, the Pawn was given to Stefano, who further brainwashed him to think he was Roman Brady (Josh Taylor). His future wife, Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), played a crucial role in his journey.

She tried to help him regain his memories. The show also teased viewers that John might actually be Stefano DiMera, but that theory was later debunked on Days of our Lives. Dig in and watch because this is important!
